I loved 'Pirate Movies' as a kid and still as a old grannie..my first movie crush was Burt Lancaster in 'The Crimson Pirate' and his cute bearded sidekick Nick Cravat.. it was a tie..Dressing as a pirate for Halloween for 3 years in a role till my mom said it was time to be someone else..hmmm ...
Delightful movie my grandson loved it too..
Oh yeah, enjoyed these movies 'The Black Pearl/ Pirates of the Caribbean and At World's End' on all different levels, the music, the costumes, characters, story, locations... and can watch with the whole family..and..I see alot of the 'Crimson Pirate' influence in these movies..
A few other great pirate movies that I have enjoyed:Peter Pan, The Pirate of Penzance, Nate and Hayes, Morgan the Pirate, Capt. Blood,The Buccaneer,Hook, The Black Swan, Blackbeard, Sinbad the Sailor,The Black Pirate,Pirates of Tortuga, Sandokan, Cutthroat Island, and Yellowbeard and almost forgot Waterworld..
He is the classic image of a pirate to me ...crusty but a wee pinch of goodness.. maybe and that crazy little monkey! Oops! forgot to load a image of Davy Jones a very coool Octo-pirate!! Disney did a great job!!
This is a interesting movie and awesome pirate, must have been another inspiration for Johnny Depp..'Blackbeard:Terror At Sea'..
Finally a cool lady pirate from the movie 'Cutthroat Island' [and a girl can never have enough guns apparently]..but her co-star was too bland..too bad..but was still a fun movie.. and a small peek of the 'Crimson Pirate'..
Yeah ! GB would be a de-lish pirate!!
Thursday Scrappy Jessi http://www.scrappyjessi.blogspot.com/had a show and share of Favorite toys.. so late doing that.. but here I whittled it down to my absolute favorites..
Yep, I had a Barbie in the striped bathing suit and ponytail, 3 actually..even one that had 3 wigs to play with.. and my mom use to make a new outfit everyday for Barbie ,well til my baby brother was born.. I was a only child til I was almost 10 years old.
I grew up in southern California ..and for awhile we lived in a apartment complex that was owned by a wonderful Chinese family, and there was a big fish pond in the center instead of a pool..Was like a fairy land..I loved it..and sometimes they would bring us steamed dumplings and pork fried rice..it was a wonderful time..and my cat was a constant companion.. and we got into alot of mischief! I can relate to and looked alot like Eloise, the books are by H. Knight..
Golden books, anything with pictures, my mom used to take me to the library alot and I loved having a library card it opened up the doors to a whole new world....then I had metal roller skates [I was a menace on them]..
Play doh I received some every Christmas til I was 14.. and I still played with it! Paper dolls were what I played with the most..loved using scissors..and when my daughter was little, we spent hours cutting out books of paper dolls..good times in the house on snowy or rainy days..
Found this picture of a cat on Flickr that 'looked' like my best pal 'before' I had baby brothers and a sister..He was a big old tom that let me dress him up feed him cookies and brush him was my shadow when were were outside..hmm.. now I feel rather sad remembering so many years ago and still I get teary....
Oooooh what about the Pirate Movie?! So hilarious! If you haven't seen it, you must! Musical from the 80's! Makes fun of a broadway show I believe. :)
